By using our website www.mothershouse.com (hereinafter “the Website”) and the services we offer, such as activities based on transpersonal psychology, transformative retreats, workshops, wellness facilities, and community events (hereinafter collectively “the Services”), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with these terms, we kindly ask you not to use the Website or our Services.
1. Definitions
- Mother’s House: Foundation Mother’s House, located at Pelmersheideweg 8, 6005 PK Weert, Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 96197110.
- User: Any person who visits the Website or participates in our Services.
- Services: All offered activities, including but not limited to sessions and workshops based on transpersonal psychology, transformative retreats, wellness facilities (sauna, jacuzzi, sweat lodge), and community events such as Karma Mondays.
- Content: All text, images, videos, music, and other materials on the Website.
2. Applicability
These Terms and Conditions apply to all use of the Website and participation in our Services. Additional terms may apply to specific Services (e.g., registration for transformative retreats or workshops), which will be provided upon registration or purchase. In case of contradictions, the specific terms prevail over these Terms and Conditions.
3. Use of the Website
3.1. Access: The Website is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You may not use the Website for unlawful, harmful, or commercial purposes without our express written permission.
3.2. Intellectual Property: All Content on the Website, including texts, images, logos, and descriptions of activities such as transpersonal psychology and transformative retreats, is owned by Mother’s House or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or use it without our written permission.
3.3. User Conduct: It is prohibited to:
- Use the Website in a manner that harms Mother’s House, other users, or third parties;
- Attempt unauthorized access to our systems;
- Post content that is offensive, discriminatory, or illegal.
4. Participation in Services
4.1. Registration: To participate in our Services, such as transformative retreats or workshops based on transpersonal psychology, you must register via the Website or a designated form. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information.
4.2. Health Requirements: Participation in our Services requires good physical and mental health. You must inform us in advance of any medical conditions, medication use, or psychological history through the registration process. We reserve the right to refuse participation if we cannot ensure your safety or that of others.
4.3. Preparation: Participants in transformative retreats or other intensive programs must adhere to specific preparation guidelines (e.g., dietary adjustments, abstinence from certain substances) as outlined in our documentation. Non-compliance may result in exclusion without refund.
4.4. Cancellation by Participant:
Cancellation of participation in a weekend retreat or day retreat must be made in writing only. This can be done via email to tamara_ayatribe@protonmail.com and is valid upon confirmation of cancellation by Mother’s House. The following applies to cancellations:
- Up to 60 days before the start of the weekend or day retreat, the Participant may cancel their registration, and Mother’s House will not charge cancellation fees.
- Between 60 days and 30 days before the start of the weekend or day retreat, the Participant may cancel their registration, in which case 25% of the weekend or day retreat costs will be charged.
- Between 30 days and 14 days before the start of the weekend or day retreat, the Participant may cancel their registration, in which case 50% of the weekend or day retreat costs will be charged.
- If the Participant cancels their registration within 14 days before the start of the weekend or day retreat, 100% of the weekend or day retreat costs will be charged.
- If the Participant is unable to participate on-site, for any reason, the prepaid weekend or day retreat costs will not be refunded.
- If the Participant is unable to attend the booked weekend or day retreat, substitution by another individual is permitted, but only after consultation with Mother’s House and provided the details of the substitute participant are submitted via email at least 1 day prior to the start.
- Participation in the program during the weekend or day retreat is voluntary. Participants are free to opt out of the offered program. Opting out does not entitle the Participant to a (partial) refund of the prepaid weekend or day retreat costs, nor to a replacement session or activity.
- Participants may take out travel and/or cancellation insurance with an insurer to cover unforeseen cancellation costs.
4.5. Cancellation by Us: Mother’s House reserves the right to cancel or modify Services due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., force majeure, illness of facilitators). In such cases, we will offer an alternative date or a full refund.
5. Payment
5.1. Fees: The costs for Services are listed on the Website or provided upon registration. All fees are in euros and include VAT unless otherwise stated.
5.2. Payment Methods: Payment can be made via bank transfer, Bitcoin, or cash upon arrival, as specified for the particular Service.
5.3. Deposit: Some Services, such as transformative retreats, require a deposit. The remaining amount must be paid upon arrival unless otherwise agreed.
5.4. Donation Spaces: For certain programs, we offer limited ‘pay by donation’ spaces. Availability is determined by Mother’s House.
6. Liability
6.1. At Your Own Risk: Participation in our Services, including activities based on transpersonal psychology, transformative retreats, and wellness facilities (sauna, jacuzzi, sweat lodge), is at your own risk. Mother’s House is not liable for physical, mental, or material damage, except in cases of intent or gross negligence on our part.
6.2. Disclaimer: Our Services are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric advice. Consult a doctor for health-related questions.
6.3. Facilities: Use of wellness facilities is at your own responsibility. Mother’s House is not liable for injury or damage due to misuse.
6.4. Website: We strive to ensure the Website is accurate and up-to-date but do not guarantee it is free from errors or interruptions.
7. Privacy
We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available at www.mothershouse.com/privacy) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By using the Website or participating in Services, you agree to this processing.
8. Conduct During Services
8.1. Respect: Participants must respect the space, facilitators, and other attendees, especially during transformative retreats and sessions based on transpersonal psychology. Inappropriate behavior may result in removal without refund.
8.2. Phone Use: During our Services, we ask you to turn off your phone or use it only in emergencies to preserve everyone’s experience.
8.3. Karma Mondays: Participation in Karma Mondays is voluntary and based on mutual respect. Mother’s House reserves the right to refuse participation.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most current version is always available on the Website. By continuing to use the Website or Services after changes, you agree to the updated terms.
10. Applicable Law and Disputes
10.1. Law: These Terms and Conditions are governed by Dutch law.
10.2. Disputes: Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Limburg district, Netherlands, unless mandatory law dictates otherwise.
